Regulatory Status of CSL Biotherapies' Seasonal Influenza Vaccine
2011/2012 Northern Hemisphere Season
In the US, Germany and the UK, CSL’s seasonal influenza vaccine is currently licensed for use in people aged 5 and above.
2012 Southern Hemisphere Season
In Australia and New Zealand, CSL’s seasonal influenza vaccine (marketed as Fluvax
®) is currently licensed for use in people aged 5 and above.
The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) recommends that Fluvax
® vaccine only be used in children aged five years to less than ten years when no timely alternative vaccine is available and parents are informed of the potential increased risk of fever.
